5th WEEK READING ACTIVITIES

PRIMARY

Week 5

Reading and Writing Connection   ·        “READ BOOK WRITE REVIEW”. Writing can be a great outlet to express the developing emotional spectrum of children, as well as a means of teaching them how to organize and present their thoughts.   ·     Summarizing the Story: Children are encouraged to read and then summarize the story in about 5 sentences. Such an activity helps them to think about the story from its beginning to its end.

UPPER PRIMARY

PRIMARY 3-5

Week 5

Folklore Fun ·     The teacher will select an interesting folk tale from the rich heritage of the partner state under the Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat program and will read it in class and ask some students to enact it out.

Week 5

Characters check, Magazine Reading ·     The class is assigned the same short story to read ·     This is followed by a mock press interview where students take the role of the key characters and the others are assigned the role of the press ·     The press can ask questions to the characters.
